Team PP is operating again! Manager Johan Dante has just returned from Portugal and he was given the green light for managing the team for another few years. However, he is facing with the cruel reality in Ptuj. Lack of money.
Q: Hello Johan, welcome back and good luck with the team. What was the reason for returning?
A: To be honest, I didn't want to return at all. Nice weather, seaside, sunbathing, reasonably cheap alcohol, Bairro Alto, ohh... I miss it. But it was time to leave. Well, at least girls here in Slovenia are nicer.
Q: You still didn't tell us the reason. By the way, did you find any portuguese future cycling prospect?
A: The reason for leaving was simple. I saw the crisis in Ptuj and despite the comfortable life in Portugal I decided to get back and help my old love -team PP. And no, I wasn't looking for any talents.. hmm, but I met some girls that were pretty gymnastic and had good stamina, too. Perhaps I should make woman cycling team!
Q: You've mentioned the crisis in the team. How will you cope with it?
A: It is not going to be easy and it will take some time to establish the team. But I have a plan. Team will earn approximately 250k until the beginning of season 27. And then we will spend money wisely and progress step by step. So team should be competitive in lower divisions again in the season 27.
Q: That's nice to hear! Can we expect some Slovenian talents in your team in near future?
A: We will focus on domestic riders, that's for sure. But for the moment, training new talents is not our main priority. Firstly we've got to collect money and then - in season 27 - we will try to find some domestic talents.
Q: Good luck with that! To end with, there are rumours that you found love of your life in Portugal...
A: Well, I drank some extraordinary drinks, I was flirting with caipirinha and poncha but I have to disappoint you.. I'm still in love with sambuca.
